Steampunk Lightsabers by Simons Sci-Fi and Sabers

Do you like your Star Wars weapons a little more weathered and customised? Are you often found wearing goggles on your hat, carrying a compass or sporting a ray-gun at tea parties? If so, these Steampunk Lightsabers by Simons Sci-Fi and Sabers are certainly for you.

Steampunk Star Wars Lightsaber - Draconian Steampunk

“Not as clumsy or as random as a blaster, but a more elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”

The designs vary from solid cast resins hilts to totally functional extending blade versions. The hilts are scarred, weathered, and custom painted with multiple layers to give them an aged, almost ancient sheen. Some feature Nordic runes while others are embellished with clockwork parts and leather wrapping.

Steampunk Star Wars Lightsaber - Ancient Prophecy

These pieces are not designed as toys, but rather as cosplay or LARPing accessories or as display pieces. Si will also take on custom work on request. Check out Simons Sci-Fi and Sabers on Etsy.

Steampunk Ghostbusters proton-pack by James Odinson Mclardy

Big time Ghostbusters fan, and lover of all things steampunk, James Mclardy from Grantham, UK,  has combined his passions and constructed his very own Protonic Spectral Ensnarement Device fit for 1889.

After scratch building a pack about two years ago he decided it was time to really pull out all the stops… and cogs, pipes, metal parts, blinking lights, pressure gauges and to top it all off, an Extreme Ghostbusters trap ghost in a tasteful shade of copper. James has also constructed Ecto Goggles for his bowler hat and a Clockwork Ghost Trap to complete his spectral ensnarement ensemble.

“Audrey is her name and she’s mostly MDF, wood and plastic. Keeps the weight wearable. She has a full light kit in the powercell, cog grinder and cyclotronic generator as well as the hand unit.”

“After finding new metallic paints I decided to re visit the pack and update her.
I’d been collecting bits for a while as well to bring her more to what I had originally envisioned”

Swedish artist Bjorn Hurri has created a wonderful series of steampunk character illustrations transporting the world of Star Wars to another realm (yet still a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….). Steam and vacuum powered droids, elegant and elaborate costumes, power armoured villains and daring heroes take on the roles of mechanics, pilots, tinkers, traders, soldiers and spies that would sit comfortably in a Jules Verne or H.G. Wells novel.
