Movie, TV and comic book prop replicas by Ricardo Coutinho Dos Santos

I spotted these amazing prop replicas shared in a group while browsing Facebook. Thundercats, He-Man, She-Ra, Dungeons & Dragons, Superheroes and villains, quirky props and cult horror movies all feature in this great looking replica selection. Unbelievably, this talented artist makes these awesome items for his friends and fellow cosplaying brethren and has no website or Facebook page that I can find.

I’m not linking to Ricardo directly as getting bombarded by randomers asking questions might not be a high priority in this man’s life but these are way too good not to share. If you do want to contact Ricardo, he lives in Brazil and his first language is Portuguese.

Blake’s-7 Liberator screen used studio model

A very unusual item has popped up on eBay. With several days to go, and listed with a buy it now price of £33,000, we have an alleged screen used studio model of the Liberator from the BBC space drama Blake’s-7.

Measuring 41 inches long x 22 inches wide this model has been restored by Martin J Bower and comes complete with paperwork proving it’s legitimacy. If this is, indeed, one of the only remaining screen used props then this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can snoop at the auction, and perhaps ask a few pertinent questions, here!

The seller goes by the catchy title of 61544516, and hails from Southampton, but does come with a 99.5% positive feedback rating. I can’t vouch for this item, or the vendor, so don’t come running to me if you have any problems. Having said that, I think this is an amazing item that deserves to be in a museum or gallery where it can be enjoyed by everyone for years to come.

Blake's-7 Liberator original BBC studio prop.

Blake’s 7 is a British science fiction television series produced by the BBC for broadcast on BBC1. Four 13-episode series of Blake’s 7 were broadcast between 1978 and 1981. It was created by Terry Nation, who also created the Daleks for Doctor Who. The show was, and still is, much loved by fans for it’s strong characterisation and narrative. With a late 1970s BBC budget the effects are not up to today’s standards but this didn’t stop the show from being watched by 10 million people in the UK and shown in 25 other countries.

Our Endoskeleton Skull was produced from the original molds and set on a museum quality base with lighted eyes. All of the practical Endoskeletons produced for the film were chrome painted and we’ve replicated that paint technique down to the last detail.’

Set in the year 2029, a reboot to the series, Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his role as the Terminator T-800, along with Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, and J. K. Simmons. The film is scheduled for release by Paramount Pictures on July 1, 2015.

Doctor Who fans vs Florida HOA. Geronimo!

UPDATE 01/08/2015: Story covered by WPTV West Palm Beach includes video feature from ABC Action news.

MAIN STORY: LeAnn Moder, and her family, have hit a slight snag after Doctor Who parked the TARDIS slap bang in-front of their house over Christmas 2014.

The TARDIS was built by LeAnn’s father in 2012 and used in lieu of a traditional ‘altar’ at her and her husband David’s Doctor Who / Torchwood themed wedding, held at a British style pub in a local mall. It has since been loaned to a church, libraries and a fair few Sci-Fi & Comic Book conventions in the area.

The problems started when the couple received this rather poorly constructed letter from the Lexington Home Owners Association of Tampa Florida just before Christmas.

Basically somebody grassed them up for being different. Yes, they live in an area that has all kinds of rules and regulations (especially regarding weeds) so perhaps they shouldn’t have parked the famous Blue Box out front but it’s not exactly unpleasant to look at is it? Not lowering house prices or causing offence unless you really, really hate Doctor Who. I would be over taking pictures of the best outdoor Christmas decoration ever.

“I’m slightly amused by this….I maintain this is a mode of transportation, therefore I have every right to park it in my driveway.”

To help raise awareness for this interesting state of affairs an outdoor Doctor Who screening went ahead on Saturday 3rd Junuary 2015 at the couples residence. Locals came out, along with a news crew from Bay News 9.

“Remember that we love this neighbourhood and want nothing more than to have a super nerdy, family friendly, timey-whimey time! Show our neighbours how awesome Whovians are and let your nerd flags fly high!! Geronimo!”

To see how this pans out go and snoop at the TARDIS Riders In Pinellas (TRIP) Facebook Group.

Whovian Nerds with Imagination Vs The Illiterate Daleks of the Lexington Home Owners Association of Tampa Florida. Just like the Time War but with slightly less carnage and more chips’n’dips.
