Beautiful Art Nouveau / stained glass style illustrations, by the artist by Takumi, inspired by the movies of Studio Ghibli. From the timeless classics such as Totoro and Kiki to Spirited Away and Ponyo each illustration contains a wealth of visual clues relating to each movie. You can find more by Takumi on Pixiv.
The classic animated worlds of Studio Ghibli brought vividly to (still) life in a series of paintings by the artist lixiaoyaoii. I’ve been hooked on Studio Ghibli movies since first watching My Neighbour Totoro many years ago and travelling to the Cornerhouse in Manchester to catch new releases.
I can’t resist movie seasons featuring the classic Ghibli works like Porco Rosso, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Whisper Of The Heart and Nausicaä to the comparatively more recent movies like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and From Up On Poppy Hill. These paintings have inspired to re-watch them all and acquire the most recent releases that have passed me by. Summer blockbusters come and go, these animated classics will remain forever young.
You can find more by lixiaoyaoii on Pixiv but the sign-up process is painful, so be warned.

“In my very distant past I worked for Bermans and Nathans Theatrical and Film Costumers in London, where I made wonderful and interesting things such as elf costumes for Santa Claus the Movie, Egyptian mummies for Young Sherlock Holmes and accessories for Indiana Jones. Later I worked as a seamstress with the designer John Galliano.”
