Movie Locations Retro Travel Posters

Design company Studio MUTI worked with FoxP2 to create a series of posters for Ster-Kinekor Theaters, South Africa’s leading cinema house. They illustrated posters for four well-known movies, namely King Kong, The Shining, Avatar and Lord of the Rings. The concept was to illustrate locations found only in the respective movies and portray them as destinations in a classic, mid-century travel poster style.

Wellington Airport, NZ – The Gateway to Middle Earth

Share  gplus

Smaug the Magnificent, considered to be the last of the great dragons in Middle Earth, has made himself comfortable in Wellington Airport, NZ busy terminal.

Lying in wait amongst a rocky facade, Smaug watches over passengers checking-in with his piercing yellow eyes.

With a total length of 4.25 metres from nose to the back of his head, the 75% to scale Smaug has been developed by Weta Workshop and Wellington Airport to accompany Gollum & the Great Eagles in welcoming visitors to the Wellington region and New Zealand.
