Disenchanted Disney by Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros

What happens if you take a much loved Disney Princess and introduce an unexpected element of horror and disorder into her life? Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros re-creates scenes from Disney movies and adds pop culture references into the mix. Sleeping Beauty would obviously meet Freddy in her dreams,  Ariel has a run in with The Creature from the Black Lagoon and poor young Arthur is denied his one chance to become the King of England.

IKEA Instructions for Horror Fans

Illustrator Ed Harrington has drawn up a series of IKEA style instruction sheets for famous movie monsters via his Instagram account nothinghappenedtoday. Freddy Krueger, Alien, Jason Voorhees and Pinhead rub shoulders with Beetlejuice, the aliens from They Live and The Walking Dead.

These handy guides detail the items you require and give basic construction guidelines for each miscreant. Not sure what the Allen key is for, but it looks like it comes with every set. You can never have too many Allen keys.

October 2017 UPDATE: Now with more added horror including Candyman, Hannibal Lecter and Carrie.

It Came From 1984

Last year the Bottleneck Gallery, 60 Broadway, Brooklyn, New York held an art show, curated by Chogrin, entitled It Came From 1984.

Artists interpreted films from 1984 in all kinds of interesting ways. I have picked out my favourites, including Police Academy, Gremlins and Beverly Hills Cop, which you will find below along with an alternative 1980s music mix to set the mood.

Artist Rocky Davies creates brilliant record sleeve designs featuring well know 1980s movie and TV characters covering appropriate 80s anthems.

Hopefully he is working on the music tracks next because ‘I’d buy that for a dollar!’
