Steampunk Lightsabers by Simons Sci-Fi and Sabers

Do you like your Star Wars weapons a little more weathered and customised? Are you often found wearing goggles on your hat, carrying a compass or sporting a ray-gun at tea parties? If so, these Steampunk Lightsabers by Simons Sci-Fi and Sabers are certainly for you.

Steampunk Star Wars Lightsaber - Draconian Steampunk

“Not as clumsy or as random as a blaster, but a more elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”

The designs vary from solid cast resins hilts to totally functional extending blade versions. The hilts are scarred, weathered, and custom painted with multiple layers to give them an aged, almost ancient sheen. Some feature Nordic runes while others are embellished with clockwork parts and leather wrapping.

Steampunk Star Wars Lightsaber - Ancient Prophecy

These pieces are not designed as toys, but rather as cosplay or LARPing accessories or as display pieces. Si will also take on custom work on request. Check out Simons Sci-Fi and Sabers on Etsy.

“We happen to be fans of Big Bang Theory and in one episode, we spotted a Rubik’s Cube tissue box somewhere in their geek apartment. Of course they’re not the first one to have this idea but we got curious and were convinced they would make awesome Christmas gifts for our friends.”

Gaming & retro tissue boxes by kanojo - Rubik's Cube

“In the end we overdid it a little and made every cubic (and geek-ish) item we could think of. Each cube is made in a different way, some painted, stencilled or glued.”

There are loads of images and a build guides via their blog.kanojo.de including dimensions, cutting, painting, stencilling etc. and they also sell card versions with a magnetic lid.

Alien Pez dispenser by Peter “Rat D” Davidson

Alien Pez dispenser by Peter “Rat D” Davidson… in space, no one can hear you craft. Very little is known about the artist that created this rather wonderful Xeno-Pez. It has been featured on various blogs and articles as far back as 2001 with no direct link to it’s creator. Perhaps he will always remain anonymous but one thing is for sure, this is one hell of a cool thing. I’ve heard most people eat their Pez sweets at night… mostly.

Are you the master of this creation? Link me to your work and step forward into the light.
