The Sinclair ZX Spectrum, the UK’s most popular personal computer of all time, is being recreated as a Bluetooth keyboard with loads of extra features.
The recreated Sinclair ZX Spectrum is the only full-size recreation of the 1980s personal computer and will be available in the UK and elsewhere this Spring, priced at less than £100.
The recreated device offers an authentic rubbery-keyboard and comes supplied with iOS and Android apps which include the classic Chuckie Egg, Sinclair BASIC and a game bundle. The app also offers access the device’s additional features and exclusive content which will be available to download .
Since it’s also a Bluetooth keyboard it can be used with all games, apps and applications on any Bluetooth enabled device. Rick Dickinson, Industrial Designer at Sinclair Research in the 1980s and the man often credited with the ‘look and feel’ of the original Sinclair ZX Spectrum saw the recreated device and said “It’s quite an amazing achievement … and it’s a really nice surprise as well. It’s superb and I really am thrilled.”
The recreated Sinclair ZX Spectrum has been redesigned in the UK for Elite Systems Ltd, one of the UK’s oldest developers and publishers of computer and video games and a publisher of Sinclair ZX Spectrum games since year dot.
